The dial: screening intensity

Three named settings, chosen when you create a screen. There is no slider.

  • Cast Wide. Interview everyone plausible. Nobody is cut for a thin résumé or a rushed answer.
  • Balanced (default). A standard screen, full work-sample, standard bar.
  • Screen Hard. A deep interview that gets harder when a candidate is cruising. Only survivors reach your shortlist.

The interview adapts in both directions. Strong answers escalate; thin answers earn a lifeline, another angle at the same problem. Both are written to the same length and tone, so the candidate cannot tell which way the interview just moved. Every move is logged with a timestamp and a reason.

Changing the dial later changes what new interviews do. Existing verdicts are not re-judged: each records the setting it was judged against, so an old decision stays defensible.
